Building Inspections
Residential Inspections
The contractor/resident is responsible for contacting the township office to schedule the proper inspection. (A missed inspection could cost you time and money.) Please Note: 24-hour notice is required prior to scheduling any inspection.
Footer Inspection
Footer inspection made after caissons have been drilled or trenches cut and/or forms erected and required reinforcing steel is in place, if applicable; and prior to permit holder scheduling concrete for the site.
Foundation Inspection
Foundation inspection shall be made after the foundation is completed, the French drain is installed, damp-proofing is applied, and the treated top plate is anchor bolted or strapped in place.
Electrical Inspection
Electrical inspection must be performed by an electrical inspector. The property owner must use the Township’s third-party inspector, Code Enforcement Associates. (Note: A copy of the electrical inspection report will be needed for the final inspection, including new swimming pools.) CEA can be reached directly at 412-405-8231.
Structural Framing, Plumbing, Mechanical, & Rough Inspections
Structural framing, plumbing, mechanical, and rough inspection(s) shall be completed when all structural framing is completed and prior to insulation and covering of the wall. The electrical system has been inspected as specified above.
Final Inspection
Final inspection shall be made after the building is completed, the final electric inspection verified, and the structure is made ready for occupancy. All final inspections are completed by the Township's third-party inspector CEA and they can be reached at 412-455-3400.
