Speeding in Hempfield Neighborhoods
Speeding Continues to Be a Problem in Hempfield Neighborhoods.
A recurring problem is happening in Hempfield Township where speeding
motorists continue to give parents serious safety concerns in a number of
residential subdivisions. The Township Supervisors are regularly getting phone
calls and e-mails from concerned parents regarding the high number of speeders
traveling the roadways. Whether residents are leaving for work, or taking their
kids to school, there must be consideration for the speed in which they travel.
Parents are deeply concerned that speeding motorists are disregarding the
potential safety issues surrounding kids playing in the neighborhoods.
The Township regularly sends notifications to residents and ask the Pennsylvania
State Police for targeted enforcement in neighborhoods with high number of
complaints. The Supervisors are also asking parents to be more aware of what
their children are doing on roadways. Kids that are weaving in and around parked
cars can also be a hazard.
