Located in the Western section of Hempfield Township, Rescue 14 EMS has served the residents of the Western section of Hempfield, as well as Adamsburg and Arona Boro’s, since 1968. In
response to a need identified by local residents and officials, Rescue 14 EMS was formed by local residents as a volunteer ambulance service. The Service now has a paid staff around the clock supplement by volunteers who man the two (2) ALS equipped rigs. The Service runs 1000 plus calls for assistance each year.

risk their lives every day to serve its residents. This was never so evident than when the tornado ripped through the area this past spring. During this event staff and volunteers were in the process of rescuing and searching for several people who were caught up in the storms’ wake. THESE DEDICATED EMS PERSONNEL (AS WELL AS ASSISTING AGENCIES) NEVER LEFT THEIR PATIENTS’ SIDES. Truly they are “The best neighbor you have”.
