Hempfield Township is currently in the process of amending its zoning ordinance.  To keep you up-to-date, information about the new proposed zoning districts, both residential and commercial, will be made available on this website at our Zoning Amendment 2010 page.

Applications and Permits

The Hempfield Township Planning & Zoning Department handles all land development issues within the Township's boundaries. Individuals seeking to subdivide, develop, or build on property must comply with the approved laws governing land development in Hempfield Township. Applications must be submitted for the following:

• Subdivisions
• Site Plans
• Variances
• Zone Changes

Permits are required in Hempfield Township. The following is a partial list of items that require permits:

• Sheds
• Fences
• Decks
• Pools
