New Location: Hempfield High School Swimming Pool

Pre-registration required. Swimming skills and safety in the water for all ages. Participants must be of age before class begins.

• Babies with Parents: Parent or guardian must participate with child under age 4. Pediatrician permission required for babies 0-6 months.
• Pre-Swim: For ages 4-5 who do not have previous instructional experience.
• Advanced Pre-Swim: For ages 4-5 who can float front and back by him/herself and who is comfortable in deep water.
• Beginners: Ages 6 & up who do not have previous American Red Cross training.
• Advanced Beginners/Intermediates/Swimmers: For ages 6-17 who have passed the previous American Red Cross level.
• Adult Learn to Swim: Individual adult instruction
• Lifeguard Certification: (Offered in Spring Brochure ONLY) Ages 15 and up. Must pass swimming pre-test first night, attend ALL classes, pass test at end. Books purchased at an additional cost. Call 724-832-8771 for details.
• Water Safety Instructor: Ages 16 and up. Life guarding not required. Possible job placement. No fee required. Instructors are required to attend a FIT class. Books purchased at an additional cost. Call 724-832-8771 for details.

American Red Cross Swimming Instruction (Ages 6 months - Age 17)

Sunday (10 weeks): September 26 to December 5 (no class November 28)
Beginners: 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
Adv Beginners/Intermediate: 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm 
Pre-Swim / Adv Pre-Swim: 3:00 pm – 3:30 pm
Babies with Parents: 3:30 pm – 4:00 pm 
Resident Fee: $ 45
Non-Resident Fee:  $ 55
Limit: 25

Water Safety Instructor

Call the Recreation Office at 724-836-7900 to register. Life guarding not required. Possible job placement. Must attend a FIT class. Books purchased at an additional cost.

FIT Class: Tuesday, Sept 21, 5:00-9:00 pm
Times: Sunday, 12:00 Noon – 4:00 pm
(10 weeks) September 26 – December 5 (no class November 28)
Fee: None required

Water Aerobics (Ages 15 & up)

Self paced water exercise. Swimming skills not required. Impact free. Held at Hempfield High School swimming pool.

Time: Friday, 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
(5 weeks) November 5 to December 17 (no class November 26)
Resident Fee: $ 22
Non-Resident Fee: $ 32
Limit: 25 participants

Adult Learn to Swim (Ages 15 & up)

Adult instruction. Held at Hempfield High School swimming pool.

Time: Friday, 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm
(5 weeks) November 5 to December 17 (no class November 26)
Resident Fee: $ 22
Non-Resident Fee: $ 32
Limit: 25 participants
