Famous Quotes

I really had a lot of dreams when I was a kid, and I think a great deal of that grew out of the fact that I had a chance to read a lot.  Bill Gates

The things I want to know are in books; my best friend is the man who'll get me a book I ain't read.  Abraham Lincoln

The Greensburg Hempfield Area Library has been chosen to sponsor a series of book discussion programs called READ ABOUT IT.   A discussion group will meet at the Library for four (4) sessions scheduled: Saturday, October 2, at 10 a.m.; Saturday, October 30, at 2 p.m.; Saturday, November 20, at 2 p.m. and Wednesday, December 15, at 6:30 p.m.

The READ ABOUT IT topic is Detecting Women.  Female detectives have changed since Christie created Miss Marple in 1930.  Amateur sleuths are no longer gray-haired spinsters.  Now many are wise-crackin’, gun-toting private eyes. Others are police officers, chief examiners and lawyers. This program features the very best of the genre from classic whodunits to forensic crime-solvers. Prominent and local author, Michael Sims, will lead the discussions.
