Hempfield Township in Westmoreland County is the third largest Second Class Township in the State of Pennsylvania with a 43,241 total population in 17,581 households according to the 2010 Census.. The Township encompasses 76.8 square miles. Our Public Works Department maintains over 300 road miles. 

Hempfield Township is comprised of a large diversity of people and environments.  The Township contains downtown areas, suburban areas and farms.  There are diverse activities for residents and a robust Park and Recreation Department.  The community is a great place to raise a family or to have a business.
